Each room has an experienced room coordinator who holds a minumum of Level 3 qualifications in Childcare, Early Years or Education. They are responsible for the smooth running of their room and catering for your child’s individual needs.

We are continuously undergoing a range of training to meet the needs of the children to our best ability, so please feel free to ask these qustions on your tour of the Nursery.

Key Person

Fairfield Day Nursery Key Person

The experience of Nursery will provide the opportunity for your child to develop many relationships and form strong bonds and attachments with both adults and children. Once your child has formed such relationships they will naturally show a preferance towards a member of staff. This person will become your child’s Key Person.

The Key Person will help your child to feel safe and cared for whilst building that special relationship with yourselves. As your child develops through the Nursery their Key Person will support them through the transition of each room. They will also be responsible for ensuring your child’s individual needs are met through observations, planning and evaluations. This will then build your child’s learning journey throughout their time with us.

Settling In

Settling your child into Nursery can be a very daunting experience, sometimes for you more than your child! Our aim is to support you and your child the best way we can to enable a smooth start, resulting in an enjoyable experience for everybody.

After your initial tour of the nursery you will be invited to a thirty minute session with your child. This provides an opportunity for staff to learn your child’s likes and dislikes and develop that all important relationship with their parents/carers. You will then be able to bring your child for two free two-0hour sessions!

This will be the first time you leave your child with us and we encourage you to phone us to see how your child is settling in. Depending on your child’s reactions they will be able to arrange for them to stay for a full session.

Equipment & Resources

The nursery is well equipped and each room has a wide range of age appropriate resources which will enhance their development.

The importance of messy play is vital in a child’s development, finger painting, sand & water, shaving foam play, mud play, and jelly play will be a regular activity within the nursery.

All activities support the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Meal Times

Fairfield Day Nursery use outside caterers to provide a nutritional well balanced hot meal. There is a rolling four week menu which is displayed on the parents/carers notice board within the nursery.

Children who attend a full day or an 8.00am – 1.00pm session will receive breakfast and a hot meal with desert at lunch time, children under 1 year of age will receive a hot meal once fully weaned.

Healthy snacks are served during the day and there is also a four week rolling menu with all special dietary requirements catered for.
